PT, MSPT
Anne Harmon Grout, PT, MSPT, is a physical therapist with Lake Washington Physical Therapy-Houghton clinic in Kirkland, Washington. She is an orthopedic, sports, and dance physical therapist. Her mission is to provide exceptional physical therapy care with a treatment emphasis in biomechanics, manual therapy, and functional exercise and to help her patients become better educated in meeting their goals. She has a background in secondary education as she received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Florida in Health Science Education. Wanting to pursue a career in physical therapy, Anne later continued her studies at Old Dominion University in Virginia and received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Community Health Education. Anne has professional consulting experience with Pacific Northwest Ballet Company and Seattle Dance Project and has volunteered many hours as a physical therapist in the Seattle region with medical screening events.
Anne has been extensively involved with the Seattle Pediatric Sports Medicine organization since its inception in 2014. She has presented twice to the organization during quarterly meetings to regional physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers at Glaser Auditorium in the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Her presentations included ACL Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement Program in 2016 and Ballet: Terminology, Technique and Considerations for the Treatment of Dancers in 2019. Anne is one of the founding members of the ACL Injury Prevention Subcommittee of SPSM and has played a major role in the development and promotion of the ACL Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement Program. She also helped to create the resources for the program, including the exercise videos. Anne led program instruction during the initial pilot training sessions to soccer players, then led further instruction during train-the-trainer events to metro Seattle medical professionals and coaches. She has continued to conduct program instruction to area high school, club soccer, and basketball teams. The ability to combine concepts of prevention as a health educator with optimal biomechanics as an orthopedic physical therapist is something Anne truly enjoys.
